The fact that incubation centers are increasing in number is enough to tell that new businesses are springing up every other day. However, it is not easy being an entrepreneur. Especially when the idea that you proposed fails. But this should not stop you from trying. This blog highlights the hacks that you can adopt to boost your business productivity.
Remove Distractions
When I started my online business, I often found it hard to manage time. After paying close attention to what could be the possible reason, I realized that I was using my Spectrum cable service more than I should. Still, I did not opt for cord-cutting (cannot imagine doing that). But I taught myself to spend less time watching TV.
Moral of the story: It is upon you to remove the distractions and allocate time for leisure and work.
Self Discipline
It is crucial for you to practice self-discipline if you wish to achieve your goals. You cannot increase your business’s productivity if you do not have self-control. The trait helps you to stay focused. If you establish a clear plan and stay consistent, you will see that you will start achieving all that will help you reach your goal.
However, remember that this can take a long time too. Therefore, it is suggested that you practice patience and self-control. In this way, you will take failures in a positive way and work harder towards achieving the desired goal.
Here are some tricks to stay focused and motivated:
- Reward yourself for small achievements
- Get rid of temptations
- Set clear goals
Manage Your Energy
It is essential that you manage your energy well because at the end of the day, you need to balance both your personal and work lives. And this asks of you to stay in a healthy mental state. This can only happen if you adopt a healthy living style. Some of the many ways that can help you stay energized throughout the day include:
- Eating healthy
- Working out
- Sleeping well
Take Advantage of Technology
Your productivity gets influenced by many factors. These include your attitude, health habits, task management, sleeping hours, and stress. Many of us find it hard to keep track of sleeping hours and task management. However, now there is an array of apps available that help you increase your productivity. You should employ the use of these apps. Hence, taking advantage of technology.
Some popular apps used by individuals to increase productivity include:
- Calm
- Fitness Buddy
- Sleep Time
- MyFitnessPal
Teams make use of the following apps to increase productivity:
- Slack
- Google Drive
- Sendtask
- Time Doctor
Get Rid of Unnecessary Things
Only getting rid of the absolute unnecessary things will help you increase your focus on your work. And the more focused you are more will be your productivity as well. You will be the best judge of what to classify as necessary and unnecessary. Remember to prioritize your work and things will become clear to you automatically.
Make Use of Time Blocks
We all have the time when we are the most active and perform the best. You need to discover those for yourself. You can use the time block technique to divide your work into chunks as well. For example, you can decide to answer emails early in the morning. Let’s say between 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. That is a 30-minute block. You can hold a meeting with your team in another time block and so on.
The idea is to perform a single task in the selected time block. In that time block, you have to ignore everything else and focus on a single task alone. This will help ensure maximum efficiency in that task. For me, the early morning slots work the best. So, I try to make time blocks at that time and get done with the most crucial tasks in that time.
Make a List
You might think that you will remember all that you have in mind. But I swear by the power of making a to-do list. There have been several times when I reminded myself of tasks I had to complete after having a look at the list. Therefore, never overestimate your power to remember things.
Unplug
You will have to give some time to yourself after a day of hard work. Therefore, every day after you get done with work, unplug. Try to meditate. Take yourself away from the real world for some time. Do not answer voice calls or emails at that time. That’s your time. And you have all the right to spend it as you wish. This ‘me time’ will also aid you in cleansing your mind and ensure your mental stability.
Personally, the ‘me time’ means that all the services that I have subscribed to including Spectrum voice and Internet remain down. No one should be able to connect to me during that time. Unless it’s something urgent of course. I avoid taking calls or surfing social media. You too can do that!
